No Flowers

by Nick Delonas

My love wears no flowers
She's not one to be seen
She keeps her hair in proper wear
But no place files her queen
She looks to the light
She feels for the life

My friend rolls an astronaut
He keeps a crown at his place
He quotes Bob Weir in his own thought
tying life under his lace
he looks to the light
he feels for the life
of few

I feel the life long laugh
my life's gone
My mother calls love to me
keep your pallet clean
My father calls art to me
don't lose your sanity
My brother is animation
gone to God cessation

See a man in velvet preening
call IBM why his being
Caulk a girl with low resistance
who is slipping out of existence
I lost a quarter to a jelly provider
and I wish that I had died inside of her
Crying awake to a cold routine
with my fish skin boots and suit so clean

My love wears no flowers
She's not one to be seen
She keeps her hair in proper wear
But no place files her queen
She looks to the light
She feels for the life

I carry a suitcase
when I go to the picture show
It's funny where I'm not there
but my death stays in the know
I look to the light
I feel for the life of few
