In this age of wealth And sociable pretense, There is little offered any man To do of true consequence. As beauty spoiled Is that most depraved, So justice foiled, Is beauty enslaved. For our world is such That God is undone: Of Law there is much And of Justice none. Today we do believe In "world with end," Life without reprieve; Of ALL-- then NOTHINGNESS. The world of Law is shaken: The police protect the rich And beat the Dark, the Forsaken. Law is not a ritual tone, In the long run-- It is all the people own. Speak out for truth And fear not what you lose Or save, All things man leaves At the grave, Taking but his good deeds.
