Why The Female Robin Is A Brown Bird

By John Delonas

Put down the song!
Find the worm, the mud,
and the straw.
How do you want your eggs?
There is nesting to be done;
We are part of a cycle,
you and I;
There is no avoiding it,
so, why try.

So put down the song,
And stop the silly dance;
We have a summer of work
After the spring romance.
We live to keep it all going,
And the going is
what it's all about.
